Lab Plan Guide
Team workspaces, shared datasets, SHA-256 data integrity, and real-time collaboration for research labs, everything 5 researchers need.
Lab Plan Overview
The Lab plan is designed for research groups: a PI and their students, a shared lab, or a small multi-disciplinary team working on the same project. It adds a full team workspace with shared datasets and projects, on top of everything in the Researcher plan.
| Spec | Value |
|---|---|
| Price | $99/month (or $69/month billed annually) |
| Academic price | $79/month (verified academic) |
| Team members | Up to 5 |
| Shared cloud storage | 50 GB (shared across team) |
| Uploads per month | 50 (max 5 GB each) |
| Support SLA | Priority email, 48-hour response |
What Is Included
The Lab plan includes everything in the Researcher plan plus:
Team Workspace
- Shared dataset library, upload datasets once, accessible to all team members
- Shared projects, create projects that multiple team members can contribute to
- Shared pipeline library, your lab's private collection of pipelines and paradigms
- Experiment visibility, see all team members' experiment results in one place
- Activity feed, timestamped log of all dataset uploads, project changes, and experiment completions
Data Integrity
Data integrity is critical for reproducible BCI research. The Lab plan adds SHA-256 checksum verification for all shared datasets:
- When a dataset is uploaded, BCILattice computes its SHA-256 checksum and stores it
- When any team member downloads the dataset, BCILattice recomputes the checksum and verifies it matches
- If checksums differ, BCILattice warns the user, the dataset may be corrupted or was modified
- All checksums are displayed in the dataset detail view for manual verification
This ensures every team member is running experiments on the exact same data.
Collaboration Features
- Real-time collaboration, see which team members are currently active
- Pipeline sharing, share compiled MLFlow pipelines directly with team members
- Experiment comparison across members, compare your results with a colleague's run side-by-side
- Comment threads, leave comments on shared datasets and experiment results
- Notifications, get notified when a colleague uploads a dataset or completes a training run

Setting Up Your Lab Workspace
- Upgrade to the Lab plan at bcinexus.io/pricing
- In BCILattice, go to Teams in the left sidebar
- Click Create Workspace, give it a name (e.g., "Neural Plasticity Lab")
- Click Invite Members, enter email addresses of up to 4 additional team members
- Invited members accept via email and connect to the workspace from their own BCILattice installation
- Upload a shared dataset: Data Manager → Upload to Team Library
- Team members can now access the shared dataset from their own machines

Roles are assigned per member in Teams → Workspace Settings → Members. Owners can change any member's role at any time.
Upgrading from Researcher
Upgrading from Researcher to Lab takes effect immediately:
- You are charged the pro-rated difference for the current billing cycle
- All your existing pipelines, sessions, and cloud storage are preserved
- You can start inviting team members right away
- Existing Researcher plan sessions are automatically accessible in the team workspace
Downgrading from Lab to Researcher: takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Team workspace data is preserved for 90 days, export anything that exceeds Researcher limits before then.
