Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using BCILattice (the "Software") or accessing bcinexus.io (the "Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software or Website. These Terms apply to all users, including free-tier users, paid subscribers, and institutional licence holders.

BCILattice is a desktop application for brain-computer interface (BCI) research, including signal processing, visual workflow design (NeuralFlow), ML pipeline building, experiment management, and team collaboration. All signal processing and machine-learning training runs entirely on your local machine — no compute is provided or charged by us. Cloud features (dataset storage, team workspaces, Community Hub) are optional add-ons available on paid plans and governed by the plan you subscribe to.

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share your account credentials with others. Team members must have their own accounts and be invited via the Teams feature on Lab and above plans.

Paid plans (Researcher, Lab) are available on monthly, 6-month, or annual billing cycles as selected at checkout. All payments are processed securely. We do not store payment card details. Billing cycles: • Monthly — charged each month on your subscription date. • 6-Month — charged every 6 months at 20% off the monthly rate. • Annual — charged once per year at 30% off the monthly rate (~4 months free). Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time from your billing dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access to paid features until then. Plan downgrades take effect at the next renewal date.

Our full Refund Policy is published separately at bcinexus.io/refund. By subscribing to any paid plan, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of that policy. In summary: we offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers on the Researcher and Lab plans. All refunds are processed securely. For refund requests, contact: billing@bcinexus.io

You may use BCILattice for lawful research, educational, and commercial purposes. You may not: • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software • Use the Software to process data obtained without valid informed consent from research participants • Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights or contains malware • Resell, sublicence, or distribute the Software without written permission • Use the Community Hub to publish content that is misleading, plagiarised, or harmful We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

BCILattice, BCINexus, and all associated components, designs, algorithms, and documentation are the intellectual property of BCILattice. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Software for your personal or organisational research. Content you create with the Software (experiments, trained models, reports, NeuralFlow paradigm files, .lattice session files) remains your property. By publishing content to the Community Hub, you grant BCINexus and other users a non-exclusive licence to view, download, and use that content for research purposes.

The Software is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular clinical or diagnostic use. BCILattice is a research tool and is not a medical device. It must not be used for clinical diagnosis, treatment decisions, or any application requiring regulatory approval without appropriate validation and certification.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BCILattice shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Software, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or research losses. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, including but not limited to the Electronic Transactions Ordinance 2002, the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, and applicable consumer protection legislation. BCILattice is a Pakistan-registered business. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through direct communication. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan. For users in the European Union or other jurisdictions, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable local consumer protection laws.

We may update these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. Questions about these Terms: legal@bcinexus.io
